Sabina Hassan – Founder of Women-Friendly Fashion

Sabina Alexandra Hassan

Hello, I’m Sabina, and I’m the founder and creator of a fashion initiative that does not place its focus on clothing, accessories or makeup because 'fashion' means more than the appearance: it's a construction, manner, characteristic and feature, first of all. Therefore, Women-Friendly Fashion™ is a project that represents a totally new social paradigm that shapes the positive future of women and humankind at large. It introduces a set of new (educational) guiding directives that will form the foundation of a new social culture for upcoming generations. For this reason, some concepts laid out here may sound quite unusual and unconventional for people of the present time.

A little piece of me:  For almost 20-years of my current life, I've been known as a graphic designer, brand consultant, and art director, who worked with teams across multiple accounts and continents; drove and shaped the creative direction for various brands, and worked for and within large corporate organisations as well as leading design agencies in London. Since 2018, when I decided to pursue my new path in life, I've founded the 'Women-Friendly Fashion' initiative in response to the United Nations report on violence against women and girls around the world and tried to reach out to as many pro-female activists as possible in order to create a platform where everything that they were fighting for, would be implemented in real-life. But very soon, I noticed that some of them were not women-friendly at all; some were serving hidden political agendas under the guise of female-positive slogans, and some were using pro-women labels purely for self-promotion and business marketing. To my surprise, there were only a few who genuinely wanted to see change and were ready to support the cause.

My goal and aspiration: My goal was clear from the beginning, but my strategy kept changing as I learned more and more about the situation in global politics, the feminism movement itself, and both men and women roles in the human world.

The work I've done by 2020, made me realised that some branches of feminism began using woman's identity to push specific political agendas, rather than resolving the real-life issues that women and girls face in the daily life. So it made me re-think the concept of 'women empowerment.' I concluded that feminism does no good if its goal is to eradicate masculinity and suppress man's social status entirely, under the guise of the 'gender equality'. Feminism is meant to advocate for an equal partnership, mutual respect and understanding among men and women, but not to impose the dominance of one gender over another. Replacing an old problem with a new one – does not resolve the problem; it only creates more issues instead. The real change is possible, only if we form an entirely new culture of behaviour and relationships, free from narrow-minded and short-sighted perceptions about self, others, and human life in general.

Women-Friendly Fashion™ is a new direction in the global female-oriented movement. In some way, it can be compared to the non-radical and non-aggressive feminism, in other words, positive feminism based on universal truths and cosmocentric philosophy. It's a pro-equal partnership, pro-mutual understanding of each other's natural differences and needs, and most importantly, it's pro-life and pro-responsibility because we, as humans, we are made of both physical and spiritual matter, and therefore we must learn to shape our lives accordingly.

Women-Friendly Fashion™  holds three key values at heart:

  1. Purpose – in life and work.
  2. Integrity – in thoughts, words, and actions.
  3. Friendship – mutual respect, trust, and support in the relationship.

I warmly welcome everyone to join me in shaping the direction of Women-Friendly Fashion™, as a positive life movement, by learning new fascinating things about humans' nature, our place in the worldcreation, broaden the individual perception of the world we live in; find out about the invaluable role each of us plays in it, and become part of the extraordinary community that helps to create a friendly world – being a woman or a girl shouldn’t hurt.
